ModernView is a free image viewer using OpenGL. It is fully portable and does not require installation to run.
The program is pretty fast when you're viewing smaller images but perhaps a little bit slow when compared to FSView when browsing through larger images created by modern digital SLR cameras. It supports most image formats such as JPG and even works with RAW files produced by the most popular digital cameras.
ModernView provides numerous shortcuts, though the buttons at the top of the screen do not include descriptions when you roll over them -- forcing you to guess what the icons mean. They can zoom, rotate and delete images among other features.
The settings inside of ModernView include numerous configuration options such as thumbnail size, frames, sorting, etc.
In conclusion, ModernView is a small, free and lightweight image viewer which does not contain the advanced features of other freeware or commercial image viewers.
